How many views do I need to earn from YouTube?

How to earn money on YouTube?

Are you looking for ways to monetize your YouTube account?

You may have been involved in creating YouTube content before, but would like to step up your game a bit and make a steady income. Perhaps the first question I asked was “How many views to earn from YouTube?”

But there is only one problem – there is no hard and fast answer to this question.

There is no “YouTube $100 Views” formula that will allow you to enter the number of views for your video and see the total income.

Do you dream of being famous on YouTube, posting to a likable audience every day, and quitting your day job to live off your share of advertising revenue?

Is it difficult to earn money from YouTube?

You may become YouTube big and famous, and you may even have millions of fans. But unless your audience reaches tens of millions each month, you probably can’t quit your day job.

I mean a million viewers every 10 days, and that’s not difficult.

But most Arab YouTubers give up and sell their channels before they get that far.

This shocking fact is the result of an in-depth research by Matthias Bartel, a professor at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Bärtl and his team worked hard to come up with a random sample of YouTube channels and calculate how many viewers (and thus how much ad revenue) each could get.

The platform does not disclose its formula for calculating ad revenue, which can vary depending on several factors, such as the country from which viewers are viewing.

So the estimates here are approximate.

But they’re still frustrated enough to convince any sane person hoping to land a job as a YouTube star to take YouTube as a job too or start looking for a plan B.

In this article, we will discuss different ways to monetize your YouTube channel, from views to ads. We will also cover more about how many views you need to earn from YouTube.

If you notice that you have the passion and the ability to continue to get 100,000 views per day, we recommend YouTube. Your livelihood can be in it.

How many views to earn from YouTube?

Earning money and a living through YouTube views may be a dream for many, but first, it is best to do a reality check. Based on current industry standards, you can only make about $1000 per half a million views on YouTube.

So, unless your video gets millions of views in a short period of time, you may also need to look for alternative ways to monetize YouTube views.

However, this is still one of the best options if you want to make passive income by converting YouTube views into money.

Here are some ideas that have worked for other YouTubers

How to convert views into income in YouTube?

If there is no exact formula, how do you calculate how many views you need? Without a specific number, the best place to start is to join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), then learn the differences between pay-per-click or pay-per-view (view) ads.

  1. YouTube Account – Partner Program
If you have a YouTube account with more than 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours over the past year, you can join the YouTube Partner Program and wait for YouTube approval.

Once you join the YouTube Partner Program, you can run ads for your videos.

When you run ads, you’ll start seeing ads appear on your channels, and you should start seeing income. It is difficult to determine exactly how much income you generate from ads on your videos because it is based on the Google AdSense auction system.

  1. Google AdSense Auction
Simply put, AdSense allows advertisers to “bid” for the right to display an advertisement on your videos. Obviously, you have to agree to display ads before your videos can appear on the AdSense platform.

If there are enough bidders, AdSense determines the winner based on the cost the advertiser is willing to pay and the quality of their ad.

You can find more detailed information from this AdSense help page.

The actual amount earned for each ad mainly depends on the three factors detailed above: the number of advertisers bidding for your videos, the quality of their ads, and the number of impressions and clicks the ads receive once they appear on your videos.

These are the main factors.

There are a number of other people that can affect the final salary significantly, including the region of the world you live in or are marketing to.

YouTube is also served by many smaller ad providers other than AdSense.

There is also a small “sold by partners” advertising program, which allows YPP members to sell ad placements on their videos directly to advertisers.

This is a smaller program, however, that is generally only available to larger content producers.

  1. Views and Clicks: Key Differences
Previously, ads were marketed using a cost-per-view (CPM) model where ads are paid per 1000 views. Today, most advertisers, such as AdSense, have moved away from this model. Pay-per-click ads, cost-per-click, require the viewer to click on the ad in order for the YouTube creator to make money.

While more views of a video generally means more clicks on any ad in that video, it is very difficult to determine an accurate rate.

The approximate figure seems to be that a video with enough ads can make 3-5 dollars per 1000 views, but even that number depends

On the quality of the specific advertisement and other factors mentioned above.

Today, YouTubes do not rely on revenue from YouTube ads only. Instead, they use a mix of income sources built below on the same YouTube channel.

  1. Affiliate Marketing Links
This is one of the most popular ways to make money from YouTube. Affiliate marketing is marketing in which you sell other people’s products and charge a commission for each item or service you sell through a special URL associated with your account.

While many companies have affiliate programs that you can get commission for, one of the most simple and popular is Amazon’s Associates Program, which starts at 4 percent commission.

When you register in the Amazon program, you will be taken to your portal where you can search for almost any item on the Amazon marketplace, and create a special link for that product.

All you have to do is create a video that highlights a product you love, asks viewers to click the link in the description if they’re interested, and let your commissions flow.

The best part is that once viewers click on your link, you’ll get a commission on anything they buy on Amazon within the next 24 hours.

  1. Commission from brands
Speaking or showing an ad for a brand, you can make a lot of money, especially if you have a large fan base.

When you have a wide audience, brands will flock to you.

  1. Make money from YouTube by selling products
Selling your merchandise reduces your dependence on views and ads, but you still need dedicated followers who want your products. An online store or merchandise shelf on YouTube provides a way to organically self-promote while making money.

There are a lot of products that you can sell that can help you make money with your YouTube channel. Selling merchandise — T-shirts, coffee mugs, handbags, backpacks, you name it — has a benefit beyond revenue.

Merchandise increases your exposure by putting your online brand and personality in the real world and deepening the relationship between you and your fans because they literally “buy” what you do.

Roman at Wood example
Ear from YouTube by selling merchandise
Roman Atwood sells a variety of merchandise in his shop under his Smile More brand.

Selling branded items is easier than it may seem at first.

You can order affordable, tailored designs for specific products, such as t-shirts, using freelance sites like Fiverr.

And when it comes to order processing, you can integrate your store with services like Oberlo or an on-demand print-on-demand provider that takes care of shipping, fulfillment, and customer support, allowing you to reap all the benefits of a drop shipping business that requires less effort on your part.

Alternatively, you can partner with an existing content creator marketing network, such as DFTBA (don’t forget to be awesome).

However, you will be competing with other YouTubers and have less control over adding products, offering discounts, integrating your content, and all the benefits that come with owning your own e-commerce site.

You can even go one step further by manufacturing and selling your unique products and promoting your business through your YouTube channel.

As a YouTuber who has already gained an audience, you will have two advantages from the start that other store owners will be jealous of:

A content engine that constantly drives visitors to your store.
The trust of your audience, which you have earned by regularly offering them your own brand of content for free.

  1. Using Patreon
Some content creators are looking outside of YouTube entirely. On Patreon, supporters pay an average of $7 per donation with Patreon keeping 5% of the total payment.

Patreon provides a way for content creators to generate monthly subscription fees, as well as one-time donations, so it’s helpful to create recurring videos for your channel.

Most experts recommend having at least 20,000 subscribers before starting Patreon, but every channel is different. It’s really up to you as a creator to decide what time is best.

Using a variety of different ways to earn money diversifies your sources of income.

  1. Consulting
Ultimately, the fastest way to make money from YouTube is to provide value of some kind. Uploading videos and hoping for the best is not enough. After gradually attracting your target audience, periodically offer your consulting services to your viewers to get more value from what they actually receive.

Your goal should be to get your audience to think, if I get this much value from free YouTube videos, imagine how much value I will get from a paid consulting service.

At this point, it would be pointless to pay you for your experience, knowledge and time.

In my experience, many content creators who started working on YouTube think that they just need to upload videos to YouTube, run ads, and money will come in.

This is only true if you are looking to make unsustainable passive income from videos.

If you are looking to grow a brand and a business, make sure to save and sprinkle value into these other income streams.

Remember, however, that the only way each of these methods of monetizing with YouTube will be effective is if you provide value first, so let that be your focus and compensation will come naturally.

How Much Money Do Youtubers Earn?

YouTube earnings come when people start liking your videos. This ultimately increases the number of likes and subscribers for the video views.

There are many famous people who currently have millions of views on their channel.

Ryan’s World currently makes around $22 million USD with 34.8 billion views on YouTube. Ryan is a 7-year-old who usually makes game review videos with his dad and twin sister.
Jake Paul is another famous YouTuber who makes videos about vines.

It earns about $21.5 million with 6.39 billion views.

He started creating YouTube videos when he was sixteen years old. Now he is 22 years old and he is famous on YouTube too.
Dude Perfect is a group of friends who run this channel. They have had 7 billion views bringing in $20 million.
Jeffree Star is famous for creating makeup related videos. Her channel consumes 1.5 billion views and generates $18 million in revenue from YouTube.

How many views do I need to join the YouTube Partner Program?

When creating and uploading videos to YouTube, the first thing that comes to your mind is “how many views I will get from this video”.

The whole game is about views.

The more views you will get, the more likely you will earn.

We cannot underestimate the number of subscribers to the channel. It also indicates how popular a particular YouTube channel is.

To start earning YouTube from ads, you need to join the YouTube Partner Program.

There are conditions that need to be met:

The channel must have at least 1,000 subscribers including 4,000 watch times in the last 12 months.
If you meet this condition, you can apply for an AdSense account.

There are some channels that do not comply with YouTube’s policy, and therefore the channel does not get approval from the Google Partner Program.

This is a very interesting thing.

Earning from affiliates is one of the highest income generating platforms.

If you have a good number of views and a growing audience, I highly recommend you to join the referral program related to your niche.

If you promote any product or service that is not related to the actual video I will not work for you.

The trick is, if you are planning to make a video on a specific topic, find the product or service that you can link to the video.

Check whether or not the company that produces a product offers affiliate earnings. If you find an affiliate option, you can go ahead with it.

Make sure you promote a product that offers value to the viewer, otherwise they may not like your video and people who have had the worst experience in the past may like the video.

Personally, I love affiliate marketing.

Here, you do not need to create a product.

You just need to promote a link that goes to the product and in return you get a commission.

This is how it works.

On average, most channels make around $4 per 1000 views.

So, according to the calculations, YouTube channels earn about $0.40 per 100 views. I didn’t add click earnings, as we can’t expect ad clicks in 100 views.

The profit per 100 views seems small, but what if you develop your own YouTube channel and cross 1 million views. Certainly your earnings also increase significantly.

How does YouTube send you money?

Once your account has been approved by Google AdSense, Google will send you an email with a unique code.

This is to verify that your address is valid and that you are a real user.

To get paid from Adsense via YouTube, you need to reach the $100 minimum limit.

Once you make $100, Google will open an option to add your account details where you want to deposit money.

Your account can be suspended at any time if your videos do not comply with the AdSense policy or you find multiple negative reports.

How many views to earn from YouTube 100 dollars?

The concept of earning your first $100 is different for different YouTubers. It also depends on the sites where your video was viewed.

If you are just thinking about earning Adsense, you need a large number of views to get your first payment. Anyway, your account can only be approved when you get 1000 subscribers with 4000 watch time as we said earlier.

Let’s get to the point, how many views to earn from YouTube the first 100 dollars.

I wanted to be on the safer side to make an estimate. So, you need at least 20,000 views to get your first AdSense payment.

If you get a good number of clicks, you could make $100 with 10,000 views.

I did not add earnings from affiliate marketing companies selling branded products and videos.

How to get 10,000 views?

Choose a popular topic. Memes are a good topic to start with because they are generally short and collect views and engagement quickly. Whatever you’re making, be prepared to spend at least a few hours on it. People like to see the effort, and shoddy pushed garbage will get very few views.

People love short videos that they can watch quickly and then move on. 2-5 minute videos work well in my experience anything shorter than that will be pinned by the algorithm and that can get longer

for dimmer.

Once you’ve created your video and uploaded it to YouTube, mark it as relevant and as plentiful as possible.

Tagging correctly helps the algorithm suggest your video to the right people.

After uploading, connect your video to as many sites as you can.

Don’t beg and don’t be too spam. Sharing-oriented websites like Facebook or Reddit work well, and it doesn’t hurt to add links to other sites either.

Example 1: About two hours of editing, quality is approximate, it’s about five minutes, has minimal markup and hasn’t gotten any promotion. <100 views.

Note that the difference in these videos does not lie in the quality of the software, but rather in the production and promotion.

Both were created using software like Paint and Movie Maker, but the difference is huge. It may be up in part to chance, but if you’re smart and make videos that people want to watch, your chances are much higher.

Conclusion
Some YouTube content creators rely on thousands or even millions of views to generate the ad revenue they need to support themselves.

Others reduce their dependence on advertising through diversification, with affiliate links and merchandise shelves earning more.

To make money on YouTube, you need to have unique and high quality video content.

If YouTube’s algorithm finds that your video content is worthy, they may show your videos to the masses, meaning you reach a more audience without any effort.

This increases views on your channel and ultimately opens up many options for making money.

Views play the most important part and you now know how to get them.

Yes, it takes hard work on the content because nothing is free here. Put your time into creating great content and then see the results.

Finally, you have to show consistency by uploading videos on a regular basis. At least once a week.

This indicates to YouTube that you take their platform seriously.
